Financial Support:
The YMCA of Kauai is funded in four ways:

As a United Way Agency, the Y receives contributions from United Way of Kauai;

Membership and program fees, along with fundraising efforts provide the bulk of operational expenses;

Sustaining Members make YMCA youth programs possible by their financial support. Sustaining Members support the YMCA because they believe in the importance of what it does. By their personal affiliation and financial support, sustaining member dollars provide financial assistance for others unable to pay for program fees;

Major supporters of the Y give generous annual donations to maintain our facility and programs.

The YMCA challenges individuals to personally contribute to and to collectively engage others in the higher philanthropic purpose of building strong kids, strong families and strong communities.

The YMCA actively seeks to identify and involve individuals who wish to explore charitable giving opportunities which significantly allow our centers and programs to be innovative in serving the community. Connecting interested people with priority funding opportunities aligns individual's charitable interests with the operating, capital and endowment goals and plans of our YMCA.

The Y’s major gifts efforts build the relationships necessary to attract transformational gifts. Our YMCA donors are entitled to a great giving experience and our priority is to give it to them!

Volunteers:
The YMCA relies on the American tradition of charitable giving. Financial donations are critical. But equally valuable are the volunteers who enable the Y, as a non-profit institution, to carry out its purpose of private initiative for the public good. Volunteers donate their time in a variety of ways.
Member of the Kauai YMCA Board of Directors serve without pay to determine policy and manage affairs of the Y.
Members of the Y's Men Club donate their time and energy to raise funds and work on projects to help the Y. The East Kauai Y's Men Club is open to anyone interested in community service. The Y's Men strive to exemplify their motto, "To acknowledge the duty that accompanies every right."
Many people who enjoy sharing their skills with others give generously to the Y of their time and talents. If you have a skill you would like to share, please let us know! Perhaps you could teach a class, help at camp, be a lifeguard, share some of your life's experiences with others, especially with the many children and young people in the YMCA programs.
