About Camp Naue: Camp Naue, the YMCA of Kauai camp facility, is located on the North Shore at Haena, less than two miles from the start of the famous Na Pali Coast. It's a short walk to some of the best snorkeling in Hawaii, Tunnels Beach. Camp Naue is a very special place: with beach front bunkhouses nestled under rugged mountains with cascading waterfalls. Since 1926, Camp Naue has offered fun adventures to the people of Kauai, including youth resident camping, outdoor education and family camping. Groups from churches, schools, and human service organizations use Camp Naue for their programs and activities. Camp Naue has become a focal point of the YMCA of Kauai International Exchange Programs. These give our young people the opportunity to learn and understand more about the world we live in. The land for Camp Naue was donated to the YMCA of Kauai by the McBryde Sugar Company. Today, Camp Naue is the only privately owned beach front area that can be used by the community. As long as the Y maintains Camp Naue, it will be preserved for future generations to use and enjoy. Camp facilities include: two bunkhouses, each divided into rooms, 50 beds in total; kitchen and dining hall that seats 60 (kitchen has most utensils needed to prepare and serve meals); men and women's bath house with toilets and hot showers; outside showers; a 48 X 28 foot, covered pavilion with picnic tables and barbecue; camp fire areas; staff cabins; two acres of camping areas; volleyball court; and playing field.
